On a morning that started out quite chilly as our Pennant Squads and their supporting crews arrived at Noosa Golf Club “rugged up like polar bears” just as the sun come up over the horizon. It is always exciting to be part of these days, to witness the..............

Comradery and friendships that were on display, even in the heat of battle, where our juniors create a fantastic atmosphere and that was no more evident than on Sunday as our juniors contested round 3 of our Zone Pennants Championships, where the matches were played in great spirit.

Zone Representatives, Eric King (Director of Golf) and Graeme Finn (President) are delighted with the way our juniors represent themselves and their clubs, it’s a lot of fun to be around, Graeme Finn said.

To witness scratch markers interacting with higher markers and new kids to the game, and doing it with such enthusiasm is contagious and isn’t that what junior golf is all about?

The friendships that are forged from golf at this level will play a big part in the future of the game and that’s what Eric and I are all about.

Particularly when you witness newcomers like Sam Fichera (p1 below) 34 handicap from Headland playing only his second match and Joshua Bell (p2) from Noosa Springs on 35.

Joshua only got his handicap a week ago and was playing his first match and looking at the photos you would be forgiven for thinking they were seasoned professionals?

The powerful Maroochy River 3 and Noosa Springs 1 teams are doing a magnificent job in the Junior Blue section with four points apiece, only separated by matches won and lost.

In the Junior Red Division, the Maroochy River 4 and 2, and Headland are on top of their division, again, only separated by matches won and lost.

Congratulations to the great team at Noosa Golf Club for having their course and facilities in excellent condition host round three, particularly Bob Upham (Captain) Dale Officer (Vice President) and Peter Cossins (Vice Captain) and the team in the pro shop, who did a brilliant job making sure everything ran smoothly on the day.
