After experiencing what had been the hottest, driest January on record “0.04mm of rain” that rewrote the record books, but that wasn’t about to stop our Invincibles members from taking the short trip down the Bruce Highway to contest the Bribie Island Junior Open, who had their course and facilities in magnificent condition to host what was a fantastic day out, particularly for Tyler Duncan (Redcliffe) and Justice Bosio (Caboolture) where together……………


They re-wrote The Invincibles record books with rounds of 67 (-5) and 71 (-3) to take out the Bribie Island Junior Open Crowns for 2019.


Both Daniel Cho (Indooroopilly) and Justice Bosio (Caboolture) qualified for The Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship that will be hosted by the very generous Twin Waters, Pelican Waters, Peregian Golf Course and Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort during the last week of the September School holidays.


The Invincibles Course Cup was won by reigning Gold Cup of Cups champion Brock Armitage (Pelican Waters – p3 below) with a brilliant net 64 which meant that Tyler Duncan (main photo) qualified for The Invincibles Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, Sunday the 24th of November, followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner.


Winners of the 9 - 6 - hole divisions, were won by Ellianna and Brody MacRae with rounds 44 and 34


respectively (a real family affair!)


Some incredible highlights on the day, included: Baxter Smith (Bribie Island) playing off 5.6 produced his best-ever rounds (73 – 67nett).


Other highlights included eagles from Elly Petersen (10th) Bailey Arnott (8th - 50m out) and Kaito Chiu on the 3rd, Emily Bedford’s fantastic 10m putt on 2 for par, Sienna Coghlan and Nina Bohan’s drives down 3, Juhi Rampersad’s excellent approach to 2 and birdie putt, Justice Bosio’s brilliant up and down along with Mia Lines for birdie’s on 2, Ruby Kavanagh’s bunker shot on 6.


James Riseley’s birdies on 14 & 15 and putt on 18, Billy Dowling’s chip in on 18, Liam Dawson’s approach to 18, Pratyush Bharadwaj chip in on 11, Jackson Rose’s approach and putt for birdie on 18, Harry Takis chipping in for birdie on 18, Jordan Speare’s twenty-foot putt for birdie on 4, along with Jack Elsley’s approach to 18 for a kick in birdie, which were just a few of the many highlights during the day.

The winner of the $400 Lucky Draw for any junior that joined up as an Invincibles member during January, was won by a very excited Lilly Surasen (Maroochy River – p4 Above) together with her mum.


It has been a very exciting week for Lilly given she also won the January 9 Hole Drummond Achiever of the Month Award.
