Despite horrendous bush fire conditions in South East Queensland “particularly just North of Noosa” where more due to good fortune than good management, the Noosa Junior Classic was able to go ahead, where, Rebecca O’Neill (Gympie) and Daniel Cho (Indooroopilly - pictured) wound up The Invincibles 2019 season with wins after recording …………….

Rounds of 77 and 70 respectively.

Whilst on the subject of bush fires, we believe we speak for everyone when we extend our deepest thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the Fire Men & Women, our SES Services, our Police and to every organisation that works tirelessly to keep us safe.

We heard some of the competitors say that it was hot out on the course, but one could only half imagine how the fire fighters felt with all the heavy gear they have to wear, plus the heat of the fires, it’s hard to comprehend the stress they are under and how exhausting it would be, so once again, many thanks for everything you do to keep us and our property safe!

Given the conditions, the team at Noosa Golf Club should be applauded for the brilliant job they did in setting everything in place to host their Junior Classic, their course was in magnificent condition, particularly the greens, which all added to a great day out for everyone.

The Invincibles Tour would like to pass on their thanks and appreciation to the team at Noosa,

particularly Allen Harris (Manager) and Rob Upham (Captain) for hosting what was another great Tour event.

The Tour would also like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the team in the office, their ground staff, caterers, pro shop (Scott) and bar staff for not only putting on a great day, but most importantly, like most clubs, for making everyone feel so welcome.

Daniel Cho (Indooroopilly p -1 below) and Aspen Sugars (Brisbane Golf Club p-2) qualified for The Invincibles 2020 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship, that will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Twin Waters, Peregian Golf Course, Pelican Waters, and Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort during the last week of the September School holidays (Sunday September 27 to Wednesday the 30th of September - TBC).

Max Rogers (Noosa – p3 above) won The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Course Cup with his brilliant 63 nett. Unfortunately, because Max’s handicap is above the 27-qualifying mark, meant that Daniel Cho (Indooroopilly – p1 - 4) qualified for the Sunshine Coast Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, Sunday November 24.

Given that Maroochy River hold an unassailable lead in The Invincibles Inter – Club Team Shield, points were not recorded!

Highlights on the day included: the very talented group of nine-hole contestants who played some brilliant shots to the green on the 1st hole, Bailey Bakers brilliant salvage shot over the trees from the practise fairway was something to see, Jarrod Goodwins approach through the tree on 9 to the green was spectacular, Tyler Quaill’s chip to within 6 inches for a tap in birdie and Rebecca O’Neill’s up and down from the pot to salvage par on 9 were exceptional.

Other highlights included Sunday Moore’s fantastic putt from off the green on 11 for par, and on the same hole, Josh Holbrook’s drive and three metre putt for birdie, along with Ionna Muir up & down and Tama Stana’s putt’s for par on 11 were something to witness and Sienna Coghlan’s 30 meter putt through the trees on 5 to within a foot and an easy tap in par, were just a few of the many, many highlights during the day…….

If you see or hear of anything special happening at one of our Invincibles events (or any event for that matter) please don’t sit on them, forward them through to Graeme so we can all enjoy the moment?

The Invincibles Tour on behalf of everyone that contests junior events, would like to thank Frank Schmidt and Neil Charkow for all the hard work and effort they put into scoring, stats, and our website to help make sure everyone is kept up to date with what’s happening on Tour, which is always very much appreciated.

They would also like to thank and make special mention of Callaway Australia for very generously supporting The Invincibles Tour on the day and throughout the year.

The winner of the 9-hole division went to Emily Eyles (Pelican Waters) and Jensen Oldem (Maroochy River) who both recorded rounds of 37.

It was fantastic to see such a large turnout in the 9-hole division, which one would hope is a good sign of things to come?
