In what were tough, and at times very trying conditions “as the scores would indicate” our juniors and their families fought the elements whilst contesting the 2019 Nambour Junior Open. In most part we had sunny conditions, but when the tropical rain came in, it tested everyone’s game and patience to the max. In boy’s division one, we……
Witnessed a play-off between close friends Bailey Murchie (Maroochy River - p4 below) and Mickey Schimak-Orrell (Nambour – p4 below) after both boys finished normal time tied together on 75.
After Bailey won the toss and chose to tee off first, both boys ventured down the first to determine a result which Bailey won on the first play-off hole with a par.
From everyone on The Invincibles Tour, we would like to wish both Bailey and Mickey all the very best as they venture from the junior ranks (old men) into the senior ranks.
"It’s been an absolute pleasure having their company on Tour".
Keely Purdey (Royal Queensland) took out the girl’s division with a workman like 80.
Megan Smith (Pelican Waters – p1 below) and Tyler Quaill (Maroochy River – p2) qualified for The Invincibles 2019 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship that will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Twin Waters, Pelican Waters, Peregian Golf Course, and Noosa Springs Golf
Resorts during the last week of the September School holidays (Sunday the 29th of Sept to Wednesday the 2nd of October 2019).
Matthew Bryan (Nambour – p3 below) won The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Course Cup with his excellent 63 nett and in the process qualified for The Invincibles Gold Cup of Cups Championship, that
will be hosted by Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort (Sunday November 24) followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner, where we would like to think that all Gold Cup contestants would make themselves available!
The Tour would like to thank the great team at Nambour Golf Club, particularly Cal Roberts (Club Captain) their grond staff and caterers, along with director of golf Kynan John and Mickey Schimak-Orrell for the fantastic job they put in, in very trying condition, but most importantly, for making everyone feel so welcome.
The Invincibles 2019 Inter – Club Team Shield points for Round 4 are as follows: Maroochy River Golf Club earned the four points for winning, with Nambour Golf Club earning two points for second, and Noosa Golf Club coming in third to earn one point!!!
Highlights on the day included, Ionna Muir’s chip in on 8, Tyler Quaill, Dean Sae-Ung and Luke Barnes’s tee shots on 10, Bailey Murchie’s up and down on 9 for birdie, Tyler Quaill and Ava Stewarts approach to 9, which were just a few of the many special moments during the day.
If you see something special happen at any Junior Classic or Open, or around the traps, please bring them to Graeme’s attention as we would like everyone to enjoy the moment?
