A very proud and excited Jordan Rooke (Wantima) claims his first Major Title “The Greg Norman Junior Masters” with rounds of 68-73-70-72=283 from Kyle Gray (Emerald Lakes) who finished on 286. Which is quite remarkable, given just a few short months ago, Jordan felt that he might have taken up the game a little late, as did his mum and dad (Carmen and Stephen) but that was.............

Certainly put to rest on Thursday after starting out the final round with a three-shot lead, to finish with the same margin which was an absolute buzz, Jordan said.

The courses were a great challenge and in excellent condition to test everyone’s game, particularly the Palmer Gold Coast, which really was a tough test. Palmer Colonial seemed to suit my game and played a little easier.

“When I started out on day one, all I wanted to do was make the cut, it really doesn’t get much better than this, it’s a dream come true”

I was thrilled with the way I maintained my composure, it’s given me a lot of confidence heading into 2019.

It was only three odd months ago that I had strong doubts whether I’d ever breakthrough for a major win.

I’ve heard it said many times, but never taken a lot of notice or given it much thought, but there really is a lot to be said about The Invincibles moto “Focus on What’s Important and Dare to Dream” because you really don’t know where your dreams will take you.

“I have practised this a lot over the past six months and it’s starting to pay off, it’s important that you visualise your performances and have dreams, Jordan said.

This win really means a lot to me, it didn’t come easy, I scrambled a lot over all four days, my chipping and putting was what kept me in the game and staying calm under pressure, that really surprised me, Jordan said.

I thought nerves would have gotten the better of me, but that wasn’t the case and that’s probably the biggest plus I can take away from this win, is knowing that I can handle the pressure when it counts, that was huge.

There is one thing that Jordan can lay claim to and that is that Cameron Smith and Jordan Rooke are both members at Wantima and both have the Greg Norman Junior Masters Titles in their Trophy Cabinet.

Who knows what’s next?

The Invincibles Tour would like to congratulate all Their Invincibles members who contested the Greg Norman Junior Masters. Particularly Cassie Porter (Peregian Golf Course- Runner-Up) for winning the under 17 title with rounds of 68-71-78-71=288 and Daniel Cho (Pacific - winner of the under 13’s) with 79-66-73-72=290 to record their outstanding achievements.
