Round two of The Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship saw Justice Bosio (Caboolture) and Alec O’Brien (Noosa) put in solid, but workman like performances to take the lead heading into day three at Peregian Golf Course, after both……….
Recorded rounds of 78, one shot clear of Isabelle Simpson (Indooroopilly) and reigning Champion George Giblett (Noosa) after both recorded rounds of 79.
On a windy day, and on a course that's renowned as being the toughest course on the Sunshine Coast, where all contestants dug deep and fought hard to stay in the hunt.
One must congratulate two of the youngest contestants in the field, in Brendan O’Brien and Taj Egea, both from Noosa who recorded rounds of 88 and 90 respectively from the front of the black markers for their gutsy and determined never say die attitudes.
A few of the many highlights during round two included: Zac Harrison’s seven-meter putt for par on 2, Taj Egea’s up and down from the bunker on 6, Dhiya Rampersad’s bunker shot on 6, also James Riseley’s up and down from the bunker and Bailey Koch’s pitch and putt for par on 6, Caitlin Vanderkruk’s tee shot and putt for birdie on 6 after birdying the par three 4th.
The tee shots from Justice Bosio, Jade Longstaff, Alec O’Brien and Mitchell Revie on 6 were just brilliant, as was Ben Duncombe’s approach to 8, along with Jack Elsley’s fantastic up and down from
the bunker on 13.
Zac Harrison’s approach and putt for birdie on 13, as he did on 18, Jordan Rooke’s approach to 13, George Giblett’s brilliant 25 meter putt from off the green to set up his birdie, Kaylee Swann’s fantastic putt on 18 and Andrea Szerszen’s magnificent 25 meter putt on 18 for par, which were just a few of the many highlights on day two at Pelican Waters.
On behalf of The Invincibles Tour and their members, we would like to thank Pelican Waters Golf Club and their fantastic team for hosting the day, and most importantly for making everyone feel welcome!
It would be appreciated if all contestants could be at Peregian Golf Course by 10.48am to make the most of their drivging range and facilities to warm up.
