The Tour doesn’t believe it gets any better than witnessing close friends and Invincibles Ambassadors, Charlie Dann (Pelican Waters) and Shae Wools-Cobb (Maroochy River) follow their dreams, as both Charlie and Shae qualified for the most sought after amateur event in the world, the “U.S Amateur Championships” that will be hosted……………

By the magnificently presented “Pebble Beach Resort, AUGUST 13-19, 2018” after Charlie stormed home against 70 of the world’s best golfers to win by two shots at Deerfield Country Club to qualify for the U.S Amateurs, but what made Charlie’s performance just that much more enjoyable, was that long-time friend and team mate Shae carried his bag (caddied) which made the moment very exciting, and something they will savour and cherish for many years to come.

“We haven’t witnessed this sort of camaraderie, sportsmanship and dedication by two men since Stuart Appleby and Robert Allenby displayed the same friendship and support for each other as Yarra-Yarra team mates back in the 80 - 90’s, and we all know the outcome of that pairing”

Shae had already qualified given he is a top fifty player in the world, which gives him an automatic exemption, not to mention that he was a top 16 finisher last year.

When you think the news couldn't get any better, Shae has also been invited to represent Australia as they defend their Eisenhower Trophy, which they won in Mexico when the biennial event was last contested in 2016.

Both Shae and Charlie have been touring Europe and America for the past couple of months gaining valuable experience, and when you consider it only seems like yesterday that these two extremely talented young men were walking the fairways as Invincibles members and contesting events on the Sunshine Coast is quite breathe taking.

Just before they left for Europe, both Shae and Charlie (pictured below) took time out of their very busy schedules to present the awards to the winners of The Invincibles Matchplay Champions, which was very exciting for Will Bowen, Caitlin Vanderkruk, Marcus Carlson and Tyler Duncan. Tyler is also in America contesting the IMG Academy World Junior Championships as this article goes to air.

Both Shae and Charlie send their best wishes and hope that everyone is enjoying their golf on the Sunny Coast, and wanted to remind everyone, that it just seems like yesterday that they were walking the same path, to now realising that all the hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude really does have its rewards.

It is very exciting to see that no matter where our past and present members travel in the world, they are always looking for ways to help their fellow team mates and friends and that is indicative of the sportsmanship and attitude that we have come to expect from our Invincibles members and it is a delight to see it displayed on the world stage!

“Well done men, we wish you all the very best”
