On what was another absolutely perfect day for the Sunshine Coast to highlight why it is renowned for being one of the world’s best sporting venues, as it hosted the 25th Mooloolaba Triathlon and many other sporting events over the weekend, but most importantly, it hosted our Invincibles 3, 6 and 9-hole future….
Champions as they took to the fairways of the very challenging back nine holes at Noosa Par 3, which was set up beautifully, particularly when you consider the incredibly dry and record breaking hot spell we experienced throughout summer.
It’s always a great sight to see the next generation of champions and their parents taking to the fairways to test their skills and patience whilst enjoying each other’s company.
The Invincibles Tour and their committee would like to take this opportunity to pass on their thanks and appreciation to the owners of Noosa Par 3, Keith & Denise Hill, their manager Barry Ruthof and their great team for having their course in excellent condition to host their Classic, and for making everyone feel welcome.
Many thanks to Bruce Woodhead, Frank Schmidt, the parents, and volunteers who did a fantastic job running what was a great day out.
The Tour would like to congratulate Sunday Moore (Noosa – main photo and p1 below) for winning the
Overall Champions Title, and Noosa Par 3's Lewis Shaughnessy (Boys Runner – Up – p2) and Merrin Bartholomeaus (Girls Runner – Up – p3).
Highlights on the day included: Layla’s drive on 11, Merrin Bartholomeaus’s up and down on 11 for par, Lewis Shaughnessy’s tee shot and chip to salvage par on 10, not to mention the fantastic speeches and great belly laughs.
Coco Moore (Noosa p1 below) took out the overall 6-hole Champion Title with Layla Barnett (Noosa Par 3 – p4 below) being named runner – up and in the process recording her first ever birdie “Oh what a feeling” well done Layla!!
P2 and 3 below is Bethany Bartholomeaus and Kye Milliner (Noosa Par 3) who did a brilliant job contested the 3 Hole Division!
Nearest the Pins went to Lewis Shaughnessy on 10, Sunday Moore on 11, Merrin Bartholomeaus 12, Jasmine Lena on 13, Layla Barnett 14 and 15, Lewis Shaughnessy 16, Sunday Moore 17 with Alexander Dundon taking out the NTP on 18. It was great seeing Diana Banks (President of the Ladies Sunshine Coast & South Burnett District) on hand supporting the girls.
The Invincibles Tour know they speak for everyone, when they extend special thanks and their appreciation to their sponsors and supporters (below) for the massive input and support they give to Junior Golf and The Invincibles Tour. Their support helps us enormously with the promotion and development of Junior Golf on the Sunshine Coast which is something we really do appreciate.
We would also like to make special mention of The Invincibles Committee who do an excellent job behind the scenes to make sure The Tour runs well, in particular, Joss Quirk, Frank Schmidt, and Neil Charkow. They give their time so willingly to help at events, behind the scenes or with The Invincibles website in the hope of making sure that your golfing experience is just that much more enjoyable.
