If you’re in Queensland on holidays or a local that loves their golf, restaurants or just relaxing with friends, then you really can’t go past the beautifully presented and friendly hospitality that Royal Queensland Golf Club is renowned for.
Royal Queensland Golf Club is the premier Golf Club in Queensland and one of the finest in the Country, boasting the number one golf course in the State and a proud reputation of providing its Members and their guests with an outstanding level of service.
This acclaimed golf course, expansive practice facilities, and five-star food and beverage offerings provide our Members with the ideal environment to satisfy the joys of the great game of golf, whilst establishing new friendships through a wonderful camaraderie.
Royal Queensland Golf Club was established in 1920 at Hamilton and was granted its Royal Charter in 1921 by King George V, with the King’s official letter of notification signed by Winston Churchill.
Dr Alister MacKenzie was persuaded to visit Brisbane in 1926 and contributed his renowned design wisdom to a number of holes.
He said; “Royal Queensland already compares favourably with some of the British Championship courses. It should have a very great future and will be an excellent test of golf.”

After receiving much needed rain up the East Coast Of Australia and throughout Queensland, it was a magnificent sight to see the Majestic Royal Queensland Golf Club and their facilities in superb condition “as you would expect given they had just hosted the Australian Amateur Championships” to host their Junior Open that saw Kai Komulainen (Emerald Lakes) and Poppy Harrington (Redland Bay) who produced brilliant rounds of 69 and 73 respectively.
By winning the boys and girls divisions, both Kai and Poppy (Main photo) qualified for The Invincibles IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship that will be hosted by the very generous Peregian Golf Course, Twin Waters, Pelican Waters, and Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort during the last week of the September School holidays (Sunday the 27th to Wednesday the 30th of September).
Given that Poppy has already qualified (Ian Baker – Finch Junior Classic) means that, Shyla Singh (Southport) will receive an invitation.
The Invincibles Tour would like to congratulate Royal Queensland G.C, Andrew Vanstone (Golf Service Centre) and their team for hosting what was a great day out and for their very generous support, but most importantly for making everyone feel so welcome!
The Invincibles Course Cup was won by Tom Gaske (Pacific) with 71 nett, that in turn qualified him for The Invincibles Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Pelican Waters Golf Club,
Sunday the 29th of November, followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner.
A very excited Tom was thrilled to qualify for the Gold Cup of Cups, and that was quite understandable, given that he had only re-joined as an Invincibles member prior to teeing off at the R Q Junior Open.
The same can’t be said for another one of our juniors who joined up after the game, and you guessed it, he came in with a winning score, an excellent 68!
As we all know, you must be a financial member prior to teeing off, so if you haven’t submitted your 2020 membership yet please do so prior to the Bribie Island Junior Open this coming Sunday, February 2nd to avoid the same disappointment…..
Highlights on the day included; James Riseley’s (Pelican Waters) up and down from the bunker on 6. Kai Komulainen’s 69 gross and Jack Wooldridge’s 64, John Yoon and Juilian Stavrou’s excellent nett scores of 68 and 69 respectively!
“If you witness any highlights during a competition, please let Graeme know so we can all enjoy the moment?"

So, let’s book in early to make sure no one misses out?
From an Invincibles perspective: we know we speak for our members and their families, when we extend a special thanks and our appreciation to our sponsors and supporters (below) for the massive input and support they give to Junior Golf and The Invincibles Tour.
Their support helps us enormously with the promotion and development of Junior Golf on the Sunshine Coast which is something we don’t take for granted and very much appreciate.....
We would also like to make special mention of The Invincibles Committee who do an excellent job behind the scenes to make sure The Tour runs well, in particular Joss Quirk, Frank Schmidt, and Neil Charkow. They give their time so willingly to help at events, behind the scenes or with The Invincibles website in the hope of making sure that your golfing experience is just that much more enjoyable.
