News

Despite the heavy conditions that tested everyone’s patience and fighting spirit, Harry Takis (Virginia) and Grace Rho (Royal Queensland) ground out spectacular performances to win the 2022 Redcliffe Junior Classic with sub-par rounds of 67 and 72, respectively. What made Harry and Grace’s performances…………..

Something special “and for everyone in the field” was that it looked as though we were going to have to abandon play due to a heavy rain cell, that included thunder and a couple of lightning strikes, but after a twenty-minute break under cover at the halfway house it was decided that things were safe to continue play, despite being very heavy underfoot.

As it turned out, the day brightened up and everyone got to finish their rounds where we witnessed Harry win by three shots from Wesley Hinton (Keperra) who had a one under par 70.

Given that this is Harry’s third championship win this year means that he automatically gains entry into The Invincibles Gold Cup of Cups Championship on the 20th of November at Noosa Springs Golf and Spa Resort.

Grace and Summer Sadler (Emerald Lakes) turned the girl’s division into an epic after both girls finished tied together on one under par 72’s which forced a play-off. Grace won on the par 3 second play-off hole with a par.

It's days like this that really brings out the best and worst in people, and it’s fair to say that those that took part really shinned and made the most of what we’re very trying conditions.

On behalf of The Invincibles Tour and their members, we hope that all mum’s had a great Mother’s Day.

The lucky winner of our Mother Day Raffle was won by a very delighted Challie Takis, pictured p-4 below.

Grace Rho (RQ) and Wesley Hinton (Keperra) (p1 and 2 below) qualified for The Invincibles 2022 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship, which will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Peregian and Twin Waters Golf Clubs, along with the Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, during the last week of the September school holidays (Sunday, September 25 to Wednesday September 28, 2022).

Matthys Visser (Redcliffe - p3 a above) used his home club knowledge to record a magnificent 66 nett which qualified him for The Invincibles Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by the magnificent Noosa Springs Golf & Spa Resort, Sunday, November 20, followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner.

The “Brett Martell” Invincibles Inter-Club Team shield points went to Keperra (211) to earn them four points, Redcliffe (212) received 2 points for second, with Royal Queensland (214) taking out third place to earn one point.

The rivalry continued in the 7-hole division between close friends, Chase Lear, and Samuel Wilson (both from Maroochy River) where Chase took out bragging rights after his 33 to 35 win on Sunday.

On behalf of The Invincibles Team and their members, we would like to thank Hannah Mason (Junior Co-Ordinator) Chris Dewar (Captain) and Dylan Tayler (Pro Shop) who did a fantastic job hosting the day under extreme circumstances.

The Tour would also like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the team in the office, the ground staff, caterers, and bar staff for not only putting on a wonderful day, but most importantly, as is usually the case with our Tour clubs, for making everyone feel so welcome.

We would also like to thank Jason Samuels for his support in helping us resolve a computer glitch, it was much appreciated.

Once again, we would like to thank Frank Schmidt for the enormous amount of challenging work and effort that he puts in behind the scenes and on the day to make sure our stats and information are up to date. His input is very much appreciated.

Highlights included: Michela Samuel’s chip in on two for par, Peyton Murphy’s excellent 10m putt on six for par, Yuuki Takada’s magnificent drive on seven, Bailey Ellis’s fantastic approach of the green on both the seventh and eighteenth to set up his pars, Byron Rieck and Oliver Duffy’s approach to eighteen and Grace Rho and Ionna Muir’s approaches to eighteen from 90 and 70 meters out to set up their birdies, which were just a few of the many highlights during what was a great day’s golf.

If you do happen to see or hear of anything special happening at one of our Invincibles events (or any event for that matter) please don’t sit on it, forward them through via text to Graeme (0417 783 848) so we can all enjoy the moment. Newsletter and Gallery to follow.'
