Junior Golf Queensland in conjunction with the beautifully presented and very supportive Pelican Waters G.C, hosted their 2018 2 Day Junior Easter Classic where everyone’s games were tested by a few passing showers, but day 2 saw the weather improve, to showcase the course at its magnificent best “all be it a bit windy” where Sam Slater (Brisbane G.C) and Jade Longstaff (Redcliffe) put in solid performances with……………
Rounds of 70 - 70=140 and 76 - 71=163 respectively.
Lewis Hoath (Emerald Lakes) and Aimee Harvey (Bundaberg) were runners up in the boys and girl’s divisions. Justice Bosio (Caboolture – p1 below) and Olly Merritt (Pelican Waters – p2) qualified for The Invincibles 2018 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship, which will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Twin Waters, Pelican Waters, Peregian Golf Club, and Noosa Springs Golf Resorts during the last week of the September School holidays (30th of Sep to the 3rd of Oct).
Wilson Foster (Mount Coolum -p3-4 below) with nett rounds of 69-67=136 put in a very solid performance to win the Course Cup and qualify for The Invincibles 2018 Gold Cup of Cups Championship, that will be hosted by Pelican Waters Golf Club (Sunday November 25) followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner.
“It would be appreciated if all contestants could make themselves available for the Dinner”.
Congratulation to Aimee Harvey (Bundaberg - p1 below) for her excellent one under par and Olly Merritt (Pelican Waters) for his excellent even par 72 on day two.
Major highlights on the day included eagles by Olly Merritt’s on the first to back up his five birdies, Jordan Rooke’s and Lewis Hoath’s eagles on 16, Revie Mitchell’s eagle from eighty metres out on 1, and Joshua Horswill’s eagle from just off the green after a magnificent drive on 13.
Other highlights on the day were: Curtis Eldering’s tee shot and birdie putt on the par 3 - 11th, Wilson Fosters bunker shot on 13, Ti – Shon Wai Wai driving exhibition and birdie on 18, Aspen Sugar’s seventy – five foot putt from of the green for birdie on 6, Will Bowen’s chip from the rough on 8, Jackson Love’s putt on 11 for par, which were just a few of the many highlights over the two days.
The Sunshine Coast Pennant Season winds up on the 29th of April, where Cooroy G.C will be hosting the finals, which means The Invincibles Tour will kick back into action at the Zone and District Junior Short Course Championships that will be hosted by the Maleny G.C, followed by the Redcliffe Junior Classic, which will be hosted by Redcliffe G.C, Sunday May 13!
