The Sunshine Coast & South Burnett Men’s District and Ladies Golf Associations were thrilled to bits with the fantastic turnout for their Pampling – Kirk Open and Closed Championship, which was hosted by the beautifully presented Bribie Island Golf Club, where, some 99 of Queensland’s finest golfers took to the fairways to test themselves and their games at one of Queensland’s most prestigious golfing events, the Pampling – Kirk Classic, that was……….
Won by Lisa Edgar (Emerald Lakes) and Bailey Arnott (Pelican Waters – pictured with Marge Pampling) with rounds of 76 and 72 respectively.
The Intermediate division was won by, Matt Coutts (Pelican Waters) and Jessika Knight (Caboolture) with scores of 75 and 83 respectively.
It was a fantastic to have Marge Pampling’s company (pictured with Lisa and Bailey) representing Rod Pampling in his absence.
Marge said she was thrilled to be involved and further stated that these kids are incredibly talented, they present themselves beautifully and are a credit to the game and their families. Marge added. I’m sure Rod and Katherine Kirk would be enormously proud of how the kids have supported their Classic.
Marge went on to say that Rod rang her this morning to ask her to pass on his best wishes and hopes that everyone has a great day.

Ben Stieler (Brookwater – p2 below) and Justice Bosio (Caboolture - p1 below with Marge Pampling) both qualified for The Invincibles 2017 IGA Sunshine Coast Junior Masters Championship, which will be hosted by the very generous and supportive Twin Waters, Pelican Waters, Peregian Golf Course, and Noosa Springs Golf Resorts during the last week of the September School holidays (24th to the 27th of September).
Quinlan O’Donnell (Noosa – p3 above) won The Invincibles Sunshine Coast Course Cup with 65 nett (given that Quinlan’s h/c is over 27) meant that George Giblett (Cooroy) qualified for Sunshine Coast Gold Cup of Cups Championship that will be hosted by Twin Waters (Sunday November 26) followed immediately by The Invincibles Annual Junior Presentation Dinner!
The Invincibles Inter – Club Team Shield points for round 5 are as follows: Cooroy Golf Club earned the four points for winning, Windaroo Golf Club earned two points for second, with Emerald Lakes Golf Club taking out one point for third!!!
Highlights on the day included: Sophie Martell’s tee shot on 10, Jack Elsey’s up and down on 14 to save par, Jayden Dyal and Rhys Vanderkruk’s brilliant putts on 14, Yevin Samararatne’s bunker shot on 14, Will Martell’s chip shot on 14, Olly Merritt’s brilliant forty-foot putt from off the green on 18 for birdie in front of a large and appreciative gallery, and Teeren Kannan’s excellent twelve-foot putt on 18, which were just a few of the many highlights during the day…….
