The 2018 Sunshine Coast Junior Pennants season came to a thrilling conclusion at Gympie Golf Club on Sunday, as defending champions Noosa were knocked out of 2nd place by Maroochy River, who will now face season-long leaders Mt. Junior Golf Queensland in conjunction with the beautifully presented and very supportive Pelican Waters G.C, hosted their 2018 2 Day Junior Easter Classic where everyone’s games were tested by a few passing showers, but day 2 saw the weather improve, to showcase the course at its magnificent best “all be it a bit windy” where Sam Slater (Brisbane G.C) and Jade Longstaff (Redcliffe) put in solid performances with……………
Even though there were a couple of delays due to severe weather, The Invincibles Matchplay Finals were certainly worth the wait, as it was an absolute pleasure to witness those that made it through to the finals, giving it their best, and that’s just what these young men and women did as they played some incredible golf "they make the game look so easy" and they certainly are a credit to their clubs and the game………….
Jake Crowther (Nambour – ex Invincibles -pictured) put in a marathon performance to win the Headland Men’s Sunshine Coast Open Amateur Championship after eight gruelling, but very exciting playoff holes against a very solid performer in David Schwartz (Nudgee).
